Athos has told remarkably few people of his sins. In fact, no one has been outright told so much as Remy had been there during the act of murder, and since then, he has been atoning through as much red wine as possible. Yet, it seems as though the life is not truly forfeit. D'Artagnan knows, he realises, a split second after he thinks he has hid it so well.
